1.   Bid via Bid Box

Bid by Paper and Dropbox Download a Bid Form

  • Use a printed Bid Form available from the Library or print your own copy
  • Fill in your bids
  • Drop your Bid Form in the Auction Bid Box on the Auction Table, located in the Library Lobby.

2.   Bid Online

Bid Online Enter your Bid Now

  • Use the BID NOW online form in the Take A Chance website
  • Fill in your bids
  • Submit online

3.   Bid by Email

Bid by Email Subject: AUCTION BID

  • Send an email to friends_livlibrary@verizon.net with the following:
    • In the subject of email, indicate "AUCTION BID"
    • In the body of email, state your full name and phone number, item name, and the amount of your bid.

4.   Bid by Phone

  • Request for extension number 505, to phone in your bid at a recorded line.
    • Record your bid message, at the prompt.
    • State your full name and phone number, item name, and the amount of your bid.

  • Drop your Raffle Ticket Order Form in the Auction Bid Box on the Auction Table, located in the Library Lobby.



2.   Order by Phone

  • Request for extension number 505, to leave a message at a recorded line.
    • State that you want to order raffle tickets.
    • Leave your full name and phone number only.
  • A Friends volunteer will return your call to confirm the order.



*2018 Raffle Municipal License #3729. The odds and amount of winnings depend upon the number of tickets sold. Ticket orders must be received (and for phone orders, confirmed) no later than 11:45 AM on April 24, 2018.

**Friends purchases the 6th ticket.


The Rules

  • All Bids and Raffle Ticket Purchases must be received by 11:45 am on April 24, 2018 to be eligible.

  • Winners will be announced beginning at 12 noon on April 24, 2018 in the Library Program Room. The public is invited to attend. Winners need not be present to win.

  • Bid in whole dollar amounts only. You may submit multiple bids for any item. Your highest bid will be considered final.

  • Beginning April 9, the current high bid will be posted weeknights on the website. Bids will be posted in the Library at the Auction Table the following morning. On April 24, the final posting of bids will take place by 11:15 am. There will be a “quiet phase” from 11:15-11:45 am when bids will be accepted, but not posted. All bids must be received by 11:45 am to be eligible.

  • In the event of a tie among high bids, the winner will be chosen by lottery. Winners will be contacted via phone or email on April 24. Winners will have until 2PM on Friday, April 27, 2018 to make arrangements for payment and receipt of item. After that time, the next highest bidder will be contacted.

  • Members of Friends Benefit: For EVERY auction item you bid on and EVERY raffle ticket you purchase (whether or not you win), you'll receive a voucher for a complimentary item from Friends' Ongoing Book Sale. Only one voucher per auction item.
